DEFOAMER AND ANTI-FOAMING AGENT FOR POWDER SYSTEMS
DEFOMEX AP 122 is a defoamer and anti-foaming agent in powder form, for neutral and alkaline systems. It’s recommended to avoid the entrainment of air bubbles in both gypsum and cement based systems.

APPLICATIONS and DOSAGE
DEFOMEX AP 122 is suitable to formulate both cement and gypsum based mortars (also containing lime) like:
· Plasters, special repair mortars, joint and crack fillers, tile adhesives.
· Self-levelling mortars (both cement and anhydrite based) and flooring screeds.
The advantages of using this type of material are based mainly on minimizing the negative effects that high levels of entrained air have on compressive strength (Source: CHEMICAL ADMIXTURES FOR CONCRETE)
DEFOMEX AP 122 is compatible with all other powder additives, which are typically used to formulate mortars: i.e. cellulose ethers, other chemically modified natural polymers (ESACOL, ESAMID), surfactants and water reducing additives.
The common dosage level is 0.3 - 0.6% w/w. The optimum level should be determined by appropriate tests.
Stored in cool and dry conditions, the product has a shelf-life of at least one year.
